Solutions Engineer

Apica is looking for a highly motivated and technical savvy Solutions Engineer who has a strong background in selling SaaS solutions and work closely with the sales team to secure revenue-generating opportunities. This newly created position is part of growing team and a crucial role at the center of the sales process and will be responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle. You will be part of a dynamic, high performing team and will play a meaningful role in building a top performing team and work culture that drives success and fun. The ideal candidate must be energetic, passionate, self-motivated, result oriented with a strong technical aptitude.  This position is client-facing solutions engineering role with a high bar for problem solving and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a subject matter expert on Apica’s products and services.  Be a product expert – know the product, the customers, the competitors, and the marketplace landscape
  • Use a thorough understanding of Apica’s platforms, with strong business process analysis, consultative selling, and exemplary presentation skills to successfully own, script and orchestrate the technical sales cycle
  • Partner with Sales Executives to identify, and understand prospective client’s business requirements, translate and configure these criteria into real value propositions
  • Fully understand and articulate the value and benefits of Apica to all levels of decision makers
  • Recognize and address potential technical challenges, and then demonstrate the value of products via web and in-person presentations with relevant and compelling presentations that address prospective client’s needs
  • Leading technical presentations, product demos, and Architecture discussions with potential clients, to define solutions that optimally leverage Apica solutions
  • Build and deliver compelling customer proof-of-concept demonstrations to contribute to sales success
  • Maintain and keep current various sales product demonstration environments
  • Support Marketing in trade shows and networking events
  • Be the customer advocate and liaison for product management and development

 

Requirements:

  • BA/BS with 3+ years of Technical Sales or related experience and proven track record in implementing and supporting sales of SaaS/web-based technologies in a client-facing environment
  • Experience working with Application Performance Monitoring solutions and technologies a must
  • Understands how to communicate value and able to solution sell
  • Ability to navigate, master, and evangelize a highly complex and evolving software product and solutions from an executive to technical level
  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations and success in driving customer adoption of technology
  • Must have excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal – as well as business and technical acumen are a must
  • A self-starter with the right energy and mindset to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • A self-directed professional who knows what needs to be done and operates with a sense of urgency, focus and discipline
  • Able to travel 20-30% of the time
  • Hands-on, high energy, passionate, creative problem solver with know how to get things done
